WHY ARE WE SO DISTURBED?

Hare Krishna

The world we live in today seems to be heading in the wrong direction. Most people are frustrated and fed-up with their current life & life style. It's virtually a rat race. And the problem with a rat race is that even if you win you still remain a rat.

Human beings claim to be most intelligent species of animals. But the question to be asked is 'Are We?' With self-destructive behavior and unguided energy the only possible result is chaos. The enemy-no.1 being the 'Mind' which keeps behaving like a monkey that seems to be always jumping branches & not resting a second.

The most common cause of perverted behaviour and increasing crime rates can be traced to a disturbed mind. The mind is like a wild horse that is continuously running not knowing where it is heading. This can be attributed to the fact that people have forgotten their 'real identity'. The current self-identity is false for most of the men & women, including highly successful people who are just walking the sword's edge. Driven by a false sense of ego they continue to act for a losing-cause. And death always succeeds us all. Yet the fact remains that we are eternal. Now this statement, though seemingly a paradox to the previous one, is an absolute and eternal fact.

So who are we? What is our 'real identity'? What is our aim in life or rather what should be our aim in life? Why are we here in the first place? These are some things to ponder upon before you can log-on for my next post. You can take it as a home-work or a 'soul-searching' exercise. It is not difficult. The answer lies in the question. The answers are hidden deep inside us. Clear the dirt and discover the answers that are deeply rooted with your existence. 'Ceto-darpana-marjanam'.

May the Lord bless you.
